Manually-set brakes seldom have a reference point for the operator to use in calibrating initial tension and, during a run, the brake must be continually readjusted to compensate for diameter change as the product pays off. The CORTEX® LT Pneumatic Brake Controller does all this automatically, sensing the full roll diameter and setting initial tension, then continuously reducing brake torque as the product is processed.
The sophistication of the CORTEX® LT makes it operator-friendly and simple to use, for even the newest employee. Product codes and styles can be stored as recipes to be recalled by easily-understood tags.

The CORTEX® LT by Carotron, Inc. is a general-purpose micro-controller with flexibility to meet this application. Driven by a powerful DSP (digital signal processor) the unit has the speed and processing capability to handle even the most difficult tasks. There is also built-in driver circuitry for the ultrasonic range sensor, so that extra hardware is not needed.
